We sadly said good-bye to Alaska and crossed into the Yukon after spending one last night in Tok at the Sourdough Campground, our very favorite in Alaska We have spent over two months in
Alaska and loved every day. Alaska is
truly God’s country. Our first stop in
our trip south was a delightful campground on Cottonwood Lake. We had tried to stay there on our way into
Alaska, but we were too early in the season.
We were glad that we tried again.
The campground is located right on Cottonwood Lake and is located in a
“bear protection area.” We only had
water and electricity and were required to take all of our trash with us. Not a big deal to us – but some people didn’t
like that rule and were really upset when the campground generators stopped
working. Sure glad we have solar. It didn’t bother us a bit. The location and the scenery made up what a
few little inconveniences.
