Since we are on a mission to get Bernie to Vancouver by the
9th we are moving right along.
On our way out of Stewart – guess what we saw? - a bear.
Yippee – I finally got to see one up fairly close. A beautiful glacier was also along the
way.
Basically spent the night in Smithers had dinner and then
off to Prince George. We had stayed in
Prince George before, so we knew which restaurant we wanted to visit again for
dinner. Prince George is a very large
city, complete with Casino, Walmart, Safeway and everything else one could
possibly need. All we needed was the
laundry and got that done in the campground.
Next morning off to Clinton. Very unique man runs the campground in
Clinton. He prepares a barbeque every
night for the people staying there. A
complete buffet – choice your meat or fish, (cooked to order), beans, corn on
the cob, mashed potatoes with gravy, bean salad, macaroni salad, curried rice
with a chicken curried stew to pour over the rice, bread and for dessert the
best berry cobbler ever. (Bernie and I
shared one with ice cream – yum!) – all this for $9.95 per person. He also sold the best home grown
tomatoes. Wish I could have bought more
and made sauce. This is where we saw the incredible sunset.
Tomorrow it’s Whistler.
