Fort Nelson to Strawberry Flats/Muncho Lake

We arrived in Fort Nelson in mid-afternoon and found out that the campground had dining room.  Yippee for me – no cooking tonight.  Had a really nice steak dinner with all of the trimmings and no dishes to wash.  The next day was an early morning departure and a long day ahead, so we even decided to have a nice breakfast before we left for our next destination – Mucho Lake.  On our way we encountered a stone sheep on the road way licking the pavement for salt residue left from the salting of the road during the winter.  We also saw several bison with their babies.  Strawberry Flats is a Forest Service campground that looked really nice in the camping guide,  but they didn’t take reservations, so we wanted to get there early.  So glad I got myself out of bed because we got the last of two camping spots across the road from the lake.  Beautiful view of the lake through the trees.
