We had heard so much about Watson Lake and the signpost
forest and what a surprise – it was right beside our campground. We explored the “forest” and were so surprise
to see the sign “Welcome to Los Alamitos”.
I was so mad that we hadn’t had a Seal Beach sign made, but there is
always next time. From Watson Lake we
traveled to the Village of Teslin. It is
located on the Tanana River and has one of the longest bridges on the entire
Alaska Highway. Beautiful river where
there is lots of fishing and a wonderful boat ramp. Whitehorse was our destination for the
night. We had been in Whitehorse before
when we were here on a cruise/land tour and remembered a wonderful restaurant. Fortunately, it was still in business and as
good as ever. The trolley is something
new since our last visit and it goes from one end of Whitehorse to the other
with many stops for hop on and hop off. Our
next stop was Congdon Creek – another
National Forest campground and this time we hit pay dirt. Got a campsite right on the lake. Huge sites and we loved being there. If we hadn’t already made reservations for
the next few nights we would have stayed there longer.
